BRB/Total Id Pigs
BRB/Total Id Pigs was a one-night, site-specific performance by Ian Swanson at Re:View Contemporary. The work used the transfer and ritual handling of ordinary objects to examine how material things accumulate personal, social, and commercial meaning.
Visitors were asked to bring a small object of personal value and surrender it permanently. Monetary value was irrelevant. As the objects moved from private keepsakes into the performance, individual attachments became the material of a temporary collective structure.
The event concluded as an installation assembled from the donated objects and the performance apparatus. Event photographs, post-performance installation views, the invitation image, and Julia Yezbick’s film document the work.

The gallery remained as a spatial record of the performance: donated objects, vessels, garments, light, and the central platform held the event’s residue.
