Taking its title from Samuel Beckett’s Worstward Ho, unknow better considers unknowing as a deliberate process: a repeated dismantling of certainty and an acceptance that forms, images, and meanings remain provisional.
Across the exhibition, Swanson and Lee remove familiar objects and materials from their expected functions, then alter, repeat, and recombine them. Domestic, architectural, and display structures recur alongside intermittent references to portraiture, creating works in which abstraction remains tied to presence, handling, and history.
